Patricia Ann McKay (nee McCarthy), age 76, died peacefully with her family by her side at the Cornwall Hospice Center on October 7, 2018, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Patricia was born in Montreal on September 7 1942. She married Hugh McKay in 1962 and they raised their 3 children in the Montreal area. She worked for Bell Canada for 30 years before retiring. Patricia and Hugh moved to Ingleside in 1991 and have lived there since.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Hugh, their daughters Leslie McKay of Montreal and Joann Johnson (Tim) of Colorado, and their son, Randy McKay (Amy) of Michigan. Her pride and joy were her 9 grandchildren - Brandy, Katrina, Riley, Kaitlyn, Dawson, McKenna, Charlie, Delsie and Ella. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Ella (Taylor) McCarthy and her brother Ross McCarthy (Ruth of Toronto).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Cornwall on Saturday, October 27 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, the family is asking that memorial donations be made to the Cornwall Hospice Center at https://carefor.ca/donate. Please specify Cornwall Hospice.
