It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Emma Hollingsworth (nee Ellis). At the age of 97. Emma died peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 after a short stay at the Cornwall Community Hospital. Cherished wife of the late Reginald (Rex) Hollingsworth. Emma is survived by her two children, Dwayne Hollingsworth (Martha) and Fay Eamon (Rick). Predeceased by her siblings, Viola Masales, Arthur Ellis, Muriel Revill and Grace Gallinger. Daughter of the late George and Maud (nee Tilton) Ellis. A proud resident of Moulinette, followed by Elm Street in Cornwall, Emma spent her last few months at Riverdale Terrace where she maintained much of her independence and lively spirit. Emma was a long time parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church where she proudly served on the alter society for many years and was one of the original members of the Canadian Catholic Women's League. An avid gardener, Emma was passionate about the natural beauty she created in her yard and the bounty of vegetables she produced every year. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, each with whom she shared a close and special relationship, Jeff Hollingsworth (Sylvie), Josh Eamon (Alison) and Sara Bryce (Bill); and her great grandchildren, Emilie and Mathieu Hollingsworth, Emma and Kate Eamon and Finley and Naia Bryce. Emma will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church 434 Second Street West, Cornwall on Saturday October 6, 2018 at 11:00am. A celebration of life to follow at the Cornwall Golf and Country Club, 6740 Sutherland Avenue, Glen Walter from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. Rite of Committal at a later date in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of St. Francis de Sales Church would be appreciated.
