Obituary for Victor Dawkes

It was with deep sorrow that we had shared the passing of our father, Victor Samuel Cecil Dawkes at Woodland Villa in Long Sault, on April 11, 2020. He is sadly missed by his wife of over 60 years, Monique Dawkes (nee Ménard); his son, Victor Armand Dawkes Jr. (Dr. Andrea Hannan Dawkes) of South Carolina ; his daughter, Helen Nicole Dawkes-Brown (James Brown) of Long Sault and the loves of his life, his grandchildren-Emilie Lynn Brown, Michelle Victoria Brown, Rachel Hannan and Alexandra Hannan. He also left two sisters, Joyce Dawkes and Susie (Hazel) Dawkes, as well as his nieces and nephews. Victor had been pre-deceased by his brother, John (Jack) Dawkes.
Due to the strict restrictions on public gatherings relating to Covid at the time of his death, a memorial and celebration of Victor's life had to be postponed. Victor’s family can now welcome you to celebrate his life during visitation on Thursday , October 8th, 2020 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the hall at Our Lady of Grace Parish, Ingleside, ON. In keeping with current Covid directives, masks are required and social distancing will be respected and required. A private mass for the family and invited guests only (due to restrictions in size of social gatherings presently) will be held and internment of Victor’s ashes will take place on Saturday, October 10th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Jean sur Richelieu, PQ. These arrangements have been under the care of Brownlee Funeral Homes, Ingleside, ON. The condolences received and the memorial donations to Victor’s favourite charity, the St. Vincent de Paul Society ( 434 Second Street West, Cornwall, Ontario K6J 1H1) in the days and weeks following his death were so appreciated by his family.
