The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Doris James can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Friendly Circle Srniors Tribute

My tribute to Doris James.  I remember the first day Doris attended a meeting at the Friendly Circle.  She came with Gloria and her friend Rose Tinkess (Gloria's mom) and wanted to become a member.  I think she was 94 at that time and wanted to know if she could be a life member - even though she hadn't been a member prior to turning 90.  I felt if a person at that age was able to get out and about and wanted to be a part of us, she certainly deserved to become a "Life Member" and asked the members present that day if they agreed with me.  The answer came with a very loud round of applause.  This was my introduction to Doris James.  I will always remember her lovely smile and she was such a good sport.  The pictures here show her taking part as a model when Friendly Circle hosted a fashion show at Sunset Cove,  and again joining in at our Java Club.  Doris, you will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing you.  R I P
