Condolence: I owe my love of music to Mr. Thomson. Being part of the music band at Rosemère High School (1985-1990) included laughs, fun and a lot of memories. I played the trumpet and cornet and then Mr. Thomson asked me to try the flugalhorn. My appreciation of broadway music comes from my years spent in the band. My deepest condolences to Joan and your family. xxx

Condolence From: Isabelle Korpela (Lloyd)
Condolence: I owe my love of music to Mr.Thomson. From the first music class in 1987 and being called one of the 2 “Bo-Bo” (Oboe player) in the band, it was such a fun and memorable time in high school for me. Our trip to Europe (Germany, Budapest, Austria and the Netherlands) was and is forever engraved in my heart where memories and adventures allowed many wonderful friendships to thrive and remain to
this day. I credit Mr.T for my love of showtunes and classic broadway themes as well. Although I did not pursue music as a career I still deeply value the connection it brings. Whichever shape or form it may take. My deepest condolences to Joan and family I am sure he is missed so much already.

Condolence: I feel like I’ve lost a special friend even though I was only able to reconnect with “Mr. T” once since I left high school in 1968. I was actually tearful when I had lunch with he and Joan in Ottawa in 2013. Music was the most important thing in my life between ‘63 and ‘68. It gave me joy, but also some real challenges. It gave me a place to feel secure at school, but helped me grow up (my first travel without family). All due to the love and guidance of Alex Thomson. Joan, I am so sorry for your loss.

Condolence: Another great teacher lost at Rosemere High School. I envied the music class where they travelled throughout the years, but the band had a great reputation in 1976. After reading his history, I had wondered if my grandfather had crossed paths in the Lakeshore Light Opera / Gilbert & Sullivan, where my grandfather was in the chorus & loved. Wondered if he had hired my great-uncle in the music department at Rosemere, where my uncle was part of the music Lakeshore group.
Mr Thomson was well loved at Rosemere High along with Mrs Thomas. The Best ! My sincere condolences to the family.
