It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Isabel Hunter (Paul) on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Cornwall Parisien Manor. Isabel was ninety four years old. She is survived by her loving children Brenda Duprau (Bill), Bob Hunter (Donna), Peg Doyle (Ashleigh), Mike Hunter (Debi), Ken Hunter (Jeanine), Paul Hunter (Brenda) and daughter-in-law Rosemary (Donnie) Hunter. Isabel is also survived by her sister Gail Van Gessel (Casey) and sister-in-law Dorothy Paul (Sonny) and two brother-in-laws Jack Meunier (Rita) and Reg Hutt (Pat). She was a number one 'Nan' to her twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents, Mildred and Napoleon Paul, her husband Miles Hunter and her loving son Donnie Hunter. She was also predeceased by her seven sisters and two brothers and also two grandchildren Tony and Ropene (Stewart) Doyle. Isabel was an exceptional lady with numerous talents. She was a born teacher, she loved working in Wales and Ingleside at Stuart Markell's grocery store, waitressed, taught at the Lady of Grace Catholic school, assistant and post master at the Ingleside Post Office. She was an active member of Trinity United Church where she served in many positions and a proud member of the UCW. She even played the memorable role of Minnie Pearl at the annual comedy skit show with the Church's couple club. She was a keen community member, she served as a cub leader which she was always proud of. She also put her heart and soul into the Lost Villages Hisorical Society. She loved her community and always had a smile for everyone. Some of her talents at home were cooking, baking, gardening, preserving, house repairs, wood refinishing and upholstering. Isabel's greatest hobby was collecting and she loved auctions and garage sales. Family and friends meant everything to Isabel and we all loved her very much and we will miss her beautiful smile and laugh and her sparkling blue eyes. Many thanks to the staff at the Parisien Manor for their excellent care. If so desired, donations in Isabel's memory may be made to Trinity United Church or to a foundation of your choice. To honour Isabel's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at Trinity United Church Ingleside on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at 11am followed by a reception at the South Stormont Hall in Long Sault.
