The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Douglas Armstrong can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

My Dearest Doug, Having known you for close to fifty years, you are more than a friend to me. We have shared apartments in Ottawa and toronto during our younger years. When I moved to Montreal, you would drive from Ottawa so often to visit me. You are kind, patient , and generous with me and my family . You put up with the silly and mostly naughty things I have done. Yet you never get mad at me. You always wear a smile on your face. We share our frustration , joy, favourite TV shows, songs, and our secret jokes, that only you and I would understand, and would still laugh our heads off after the jokes were told for years. We used to play snooker, watch movies , rode motorcycles together. These are all fond memories I have with you and I miss these very much. I am very sad at your sudden passing because I expect to have many more years of friendship and joy with you, treat you to your favourite dishes, snooker games, and those secret jokes we have shared. Doug, just for you to know, I will never be able to make another friend who can be as unique as you. You will always be on my mind and in my heart forever. Until we meet again one day, I am happy for you to be able to leave all the stress, unfairness , frustration this world has put upon you. Rest in peace, my Dear Brother! Simon
