PRESLEY Joan (née McIntosh) – at the Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge on Monday September 6, 2021 at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of Arnold Presley. Loving mother of Diane Presley-Stewart (Stephen) of Toronto and Richard Presley (Carol Manson) of Berwick. Proud grandmother of Lauren Stewart, Corey Stewart, Ryan Stewart and Isabel Stewart all of Toronto, William Presley of Ottawa, Kyle Presley, Adam Presley both of Finch. Dear daughter of the late Arnold McIntosh and the late Prudence (née Ouderkirk), and predeceased by her sister Norma Scott. Joan graduated in 1958 from the Civic Hospital as a registered nurse and worked for a time at the Cornwall General Hospital. She and Arnold started their married life in Cornwall, where their two children were born. In 1967, they moved to Ottawa, residing on Connaught Ave. Joan was a nurse at the Grace Hospital for many years. Arnold, worked for Bell Canada in both Cornwall and Ottawa. They retired to Berwick in 1994 where an array of dogs, cats, 5th wheel travels across North America, cross-country skiing, gardening, feeding the birds, music, and family filled Joan’s life. Joan was an accomplished pianist and organist and was often accompanied by dogs who sang along. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Brownlee Funeral Home, 18 Front Street Finch. Interment will take place at a private family ceremony. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimers Society or the O.S.P.C.A would be appreciated by the family.
