Mavis Norine Hanna
April 17, 1959 – October 26, 2021
It is with profound sadness that the family of Mavis Norine Hanna announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday October 26, 2021, at the age of 62 years. Mavis passed away suddenly at the Toronto General Hospital after a brief 6 month battle with cancer with her loving partner Sabi by her side. Mavis worked her entire career as a legal assistant with Gowling and Henderson in Ottawa then moving with them to Toronto where she continued in her field for the next 35 years. She was predeceased by her father Fraser Hanna and infant niece Mercedes Hanna. She is survived by her partner of 20 years Sabi Takacs, mother Doris Hanna, sister Charlene Rose and brother Kevin (Lianne). She will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews Jeffrey Rose, Jeremy Rose (Brett), Jennifer Rose -Miller (Devin), Connor, Kane and Carter Hanna as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and by lifelong friend Bev Smith. As per Mavis’ wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to St. Luke’s-Knox Presbyterian Church, Box 220, Finch, Ontario K0C 1K0 or Finch Community Cemetery, Box 44, 22-44 Victoria St, Finch, Ontario K0C 1K0 would be appreciated by the family.
