Obituary for Lillian Presley (Hickman)

Lillian Presley (Hickman)
PRESLEY, Lillian (Lill)
Lillian (Lill) Presley, Age 63, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2022 at Carefor Hospice in Cornwall with family by her bedside. Lillian was born and raised by Marguerite Hickman (Touchette) and grew up amongst her 12 other siblings in the village of Long Sault. Lillian was a proponent for hard work and ambitiously started what would turn into a very successful accounting career, as junior bookkeeper at Kastner's Clothing in Cornwall under the mentorship of sister, Donna. After a few years, Lillian moved to Kingston where she met life-long soul sister and best friend Donna MacDonnell and started a 24 year tenure working for friend and owner, Richard Baird with later, brother Kevin, directing their day-to-day financial controls at Urban Trade Ltd. And companies. Working for brother John for several years, Lillian enjoyed time working alongside siblings. Nine years ago, Lillian was very proud to step into the role of Controller for Medical Arts Pharmacy in Cornwall where she excelled and loved every moment working with staff and owners Suzie Pilon, Harry Haramis and Josée Lemay. Proud of her community, Lillian volunteered her time and skills by sitting as a member for the Alzheimer's Society of SD&G. Lillian was a loving wife, very special "Momma" and "Nan", wonderful sister, daughter and loyal friend. Lillian was happily married to spouse Marlin Presley for 40 years, residing at their home near the village of Newington where they also raised their two boys Adam Presley of Montreal and Jonathan Presley of Ingleside. Lillian welcomed daughter-in-law Mélanie (Verville) to the family and not long after was blessed with two beautiful grand-daughters, Alexa and Emmarie who she was both lovingly referred to as "Nan". Lillian had a deep love for dogs and most recently enjoyed a last visit at hospice with her cherished 14 year old Westie, Molly, with whom she had a special bond. She often would be heard saying, "How could anyone cause harm to these wonderful animals?". Pre-deceased by mother, Marguerite Hickman, sisters Donna Brear (Roger), Jane Gadbois (Perry) and brothers Ronald Hickman (Jan) and Daniel Hickman. Lillian will be sadly missed by brothers William Hickman, John Hickman (Nelda), Larry Hickman (Audrey), Mark Hickman (Lise), Peter Hickman, sisters Lorraine Andrews (Paul), Diane Ouderkirk (David) and Joan Fougere (Lawrence) and sisters-in-law Gail (Bill) Connell and Marlis (Tom) O'Rourke. Lillian will be missed by her Aunt Madeline MacDonald and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A family friend recently described Lillian, "Her bright smile, her sparkly, happy eyes and her awesomeness – she exudes such incredible energy, she's going to be one beautiful angel." To honour Lillian, in lieu of flowers, her family asks that any donations be made to the OSPCA, Cornwall location by visiting ontariospca.ca where they may direct their donation. An interment and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.brownleefuneralhomes.com.
