The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Douglas Cryderman can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Frances and Clive Marin

From the time he waterskied on the river until his final days spent sitting on his deck, Ault Island always meant a great deal to Douglas. His family cottage with its memories was a place to relax and escape the pressures of city life. Not only was Douglas a generous neighbour but a kind and convivial friend. He enjoyed celebrating the seasonal holidays (his cabbage salad was much-requested) and was proud of his Canada Day gatherings which attracted many friends and neighbours. We shall greatly miss his regular arrivals, when he changed into shorts and was ready to discuss the latest news with his benevolent view of the world. He became very much part of our lives and we shall miss him enormously.
